Mugisha Muntu- ANT Government will address the Land question and Promote Land Rights

Wednesday 2nd December 2020, Presidential Candidate Mugisha Muntu expanded campaigns to the northern part of Uganda starting with the areas of Nyoya, Omoro, and Oyam. He was accompanied by ANT's National Coordinator for Research and Policy and other leaders at the regional, sub-region, and district levels. In Oyam, Presidential Candidate Mugisha Muntu officiated the opening of the district coordination office amidst celebrations and jubilation among ANT supporters.

Speaking to the people in Oyam, he said that the next ANT government will ensure transparency in taxation and discipline in the utilization of the revenue collected. He noted that the country is faced with the challenge of embezzlement, which starts at the point of tax collection and goes right up to the level of spending. He assured citizens that under the disciplined ANT leadership, the existing gross mismanagement of taxpayers’ money will come to an end.

Mugisha Muntu told the people in northern Uganda that the next ANT government will swiftly address the question of land, which has characterized the area and led to unending disputes. He said that the next ANT government will address both the policy and legal regime gaps on land matters. He further said that Northern Uganda has the biggest Arable land left in Uganda and that the flat terrain is good for mechanization. Mugisha Muntu revealed that the next ANT government will mobilize communities in the area to come together regarding land use, support them in all production means including irrigation, and add a value chain.

“This area has the capability of becoming the food basket for not only Uganda but for the entire East African region. To achieve all these, the next ANT government will ensure land rights for the people in your communities,” he said.

Mugisha Muntu concluded the day by asking people to vote ANT to enable the peaceful transition of power from one president to another, something that the country has not witnessed in the last 58 years.
