Arua- Monday 28 September 2020

The Alliance for National Transformation leadership, during the ongoing Leadership re-orientation trainings, met a section of aspirants and delegates from West Nile sub-region, which include the districts of Adjumani, Arua, Koboko, Maracha, Moyo, Nebbi, Madi-okollo, Yumbe, and Zombo.
The National leadership team included the Flag Bearer, Gen, Mugisha Muntu, Amb. Edith Ssempala, Coordinator Women League, Mr. Okumu Martin, Coordinator Policy and Research, Deputy National Coordinator Finance and Admin, Hon. Alaso Alice, Mr. Mantanda Abubaker, Coordinator Youth League and Hon. Yokasi Bihande, Elders Committee among others.

In his speech to the cheerful delegates, the flag bearer said, "Some have questioned our methods, demanding for crowds to prove might. Our belief is that the strength of a chain lies in the quality of each individual link. Focusing on small, town hall style meetings has allowed us to engage in conversations with voters, not just a one-way rally. We are taking time to listen to Ugandans and investing our little resources in understanding what their challenges, fears and aspirations are. When leaders speak, they should be able to demonstrate that they do so on behalf of those they seek to serve. This starts with listening."

In the end, you cannot give what you don't have. When we say #PeopleFirstANewFuture, we intend to demonstrate in word and deed that we mean what we say and say what we mean. We believe that causing a qualitative change in our country requires a group that fully understands the challenges ahead of us. We continue to train our leaders in preparation of that task.

Hereafter, the Team will proceed to Nwoya where they will open a district party office and later proceed to Gulu where they will meet Acholi delegates and aspiring candidates.
